Who is Raze in VALORANT?

Raze is the explosive troublemaker of the roster – a loud, fun-loving Brazilian who storms into battle with big guns and even bigger explosives. As a Duelist she flushes enemies out of their corners, clears tight spaces with a generous helping of „boom" and launches herself across half the map with her satchels.

Raze has been part of VALORANT from the very start and remains the most explosive agent in the game to this day. Her kit revolves around area damage and mobility: a Boom Bot chases enemies and explodes, satchel charges hurl her across the map and out of danger, a cluster grenade scatters deadly submunitions, and her rocket-launcher Ultimate can wipe out a whole group at once. Raze's Role: the Explosive Entry

In VALORANT there are four roles: Duelist, Initiator, Controller and Sentinel. Raze is a Duelist – the role of the independent fraggers who go into the fight first and open rounds with kills. Duelists create space by clearing angles and fighting enemies down.

Raze's special contribution is the combination of area damage and mobility. Other Duelists rely on flashes (Phoenix, Yoru) or pure speed (Jett, Neon). Raze brings explosives: her Boom Bot and her grenades flush enemies out of tight spaces and corners where they would otherwise feel safe, and her satchels give her a unique, explosive freedom of movement. That makes her ideal for breaking open held positions – no one clears a tight angle as brutally as Raze.

As Raze you carry the responsibility to open up space and force enemies out of cover. Your utility is powerful, but it needs to be timed: the Boom Bot at the right time, the grenade onto the right position, the satchel jump at the right moment. Boom Bot C – the hunter robot

Boom Bot is Raze's scout and space-opener. You deploy the bot, which moves in a straight line across the ground and bounces off walls. When it spots an enemy in front of it, it locks on and chases them; on impact it explodes and deals heavy damage. Use the Boom Bot to scout a site before a push and flush enemies out of their corners – even if it doesn't hit, it reveals their position.

Blast Pack Q – the satchel

Blast Pack is Raze's most versatile ability. You instantly throw a satchel charge that sticks to surfaces, and reactivate the ability to detonate it. The explosion knocks enemies and objects away and deals damage – and, most importantly: it also launches Raze herself. With a well-timed satchel jump you leap onto high positions or race across half the map. Mastering this satchel movement is the core of Raze's high skill ceiling.

Paint Shells E – the cluster grenade

Paint Shells is Raze's signature ability. You equip a cluster grenade and throw it – as an underhand toss in the alternate fire mode. It deals damage on impact and creates submunitions that deal further damage to anyone in their radius. In a tight space, the Paint Shell is often a guaranteed kill. Use it to clear an angle, defend a planted Spike or force enemies out of cover. The charge resets every two kills.

Showstopper X – the rocket launcher

Showstopper is Raze's Ultimate and one of the most spectacular effects in the game: you equip a rocket launcher and fire a rocket that deals heavy area damage on every impact. A single good shot can wipe out several enemies at once. Use the Ultimate to blow up a held position, clear a choke or decide a retake in one blow – but aim deliberately, because you only have one shot.

Playing Raze Right: Tips for Every Level

Raze is easy to understand but demanding on movement. These tips take you from „I throw grenades" to „I fly across the map and open every site".

For Beginners: Utility for Damage

The easiest value with Raze comes from her explosions. Send the Boom Bot before every push to flush enemies out of their corners, and throw Paint Shells into tight spaces where enemies can't dodge. Use the Blast Pack for damage at first, to hit enemies around the corner. And save your Ultimate for a moment when several enemies are grouped up close together.

For Advanced Players: Mastering Satchel Jumps

Raze's true potential lies in her satchel jumps. With two well-timed Blast Packs you launch yourself onto high positions, across gaps or in a flash onto a site – often faster than the enemy can react. Practice the timings on the range: throw the satchel, jump at the right moment and detonate. A Raze satchel entry, combined with the Ultimate, is one of the most explosive plays in the whole game.

Entry and Opening Space

Raze is one of the best agents for breaking open tight spaces and held positions. Boom Bot and grenades flush enemies out, her satchel brings her in by surprise, and her Ultimate clears a whole choke. It's exactly in these situations that a good Raze decides rounds – loud, fast and with plenty of „boom".

The Best Maps for Raze

Raze is especially strong on tight maps, where her grenades and her Ultimate deal maximum damage in enclosed spaces and her satchel jumps open surprising angles. On very open maps her explosions fizzle out more easily. The percentages are rough guides, not an exact data set.

Despite all her explosions, Raze has to win the duels she storms into. A clean, calm crosshair helps you land the decisive shots after a satchel jump or around the corner – precisely because you're often on the move.
