⚡ Quick answer
Corrode is a Valorant map with two spike sites (A and B) and three classic lanes, set in Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy on Omega Earth – a medieval castle town turned radianite salt mine. The official map has 21 callouts. Corrode has no map mechanics: no doors, ropes or teleporters. The map released on June 25, 2025, with patch 11.00, and since patch 12.05 (March 17, 2026) it’s no longer in the Competitive pool. In our pro data, Omen appeared in 80% of recorded team comps, usually alongside Viper.
How to use the interactive Corrode map
Above you see the official Corrode minimap straight from the Valorant API – with all 21 callouts exactly where the game itself places them. Tap a dot or a name in the list and the map shows you the callout, its area and the three nearest neighboring callouts. Use the filters to show only A, B, mid or the spawns. “All names” labels the entire map at once – perfect for memorizing it before your first match.
Corrode’s minimap is very clean: attackers start on the right edge of the map, defenders on the left. The A side sits in the top half, the B side in the bottom half, and mid runs as a horizontal line straight through the center. If you think you know Corrode, start the callout quiz: ten random callouts, you tap the right spot, and at the end you see your hit rate. Especially with names that exist on both sides – A Elbow and B Elbow, A Lobby and B Lobby, A Link and B Link – the quiz quickly separates knowledge from guessing. For all 13 maps and several difficulty levels, try the full callout trainer.

No – out of the pool since patch 12.05 (March 17, 2026)
According to the official Valorant Wiki, Corrode released on June 25, 2025, with patch 11.00 at the start of Season 2025, Act IV, and it is the game’s twelfth standard map. Its development codename was “Rook” – the chess piece shaped like a castle tower, which suits a castle town nicely. Riot describes Corrode as a French castle town turned radianite salt mining facility: you siege your way through medieval streets, exploiting repurposed industrial machinery to battle across layered defenses – in what Riot officially calls a “traditional three lane map.” Corrode was first shown on June 22, 2025, in a showmatch between Team Tarik and Team Disguised Toast at Masters Toronto, right before the grand final.
The lore, per the wiki: Corrode is set in a village at Mont-Saint-Michel on Omega Earth. Omega’s climate crisis evaporated the water around the famous tidal island and exposed vast salt flats. The salt deposits ate away at the village – fittingly, “corrode” means exactly that. The villagers started mining these radianite salts and processing them into products to sell, which generated income for the village. Like Pearl, Corrode is one of the Omega Earth maps where the climate crisis has reshaped the landscape.
Corrode’s mechanics: honestly, none – but three clear lanes
Let’s be upfront: Corrode has no map mechanics. The official wiki describes Corrode as a three-lane, two-site map “with no dynamic elements or mechanical hooks for gameplay” and lists its map features as “None.” So there are no doors like on Ascent, no ropes like on Split, no teleporters like on Bind and no rotating doors like on Lotus. The “repurposed industrial machinery” from the official description is scenery and cover, not switches you can use. Instead of explaining mechanics, this section covers the layout features that define Corrode.
Three classic lanes
Corrode follows the proven blueprint of many Valorant maps: one lane to A site, one lane to B site and a mid in between. According to the position data of the official map, the A lane lies entirely in the top half of the map, the B lane in the bottom half, and mid runs from right to left at exactly half height. Since attacker spawn is on the right edge and defender spawn on the left, all three lanes run roughly from right to left. If you feel at home on maps like Ascent or Bind, you’ll find your way around quickly.
Layered defenses
Riot’s official description talks about “layered defenses.” You can see that in the callouts: behind both sites there are more named positions on the defender side – at A, for example, A Crane and A Elbow; at B, B Tower, B Arch and B Elbow. For attackers, that means the job isn’t done once you step onto the site, because there are still angles behind it that need clearing.
Wall materials and wallbangs
Because Corrode has no mechanics, Riot has balanced it through geometry. With patch 12.00 (January 6, 2026), the wall material on a key surface at both A and B was adjusted. The reasoning from the patch notes: some of Corrode’s wall materials made certain positions too effective at denying space through penetration alone. After the change, holding these spots requires more commitment. For you, that means wallbangs are a tool on Corrode, but not a substitute for actually playing a position.
Closed exploit spots
After release, several unintended spots were fixed. Among other things, patch 11.02 fixed Raze being able to super boost to a very high spot in defender spawn, Jett being able to boost to and hover on unintended spots, Deadlock being able to use her ultimate through unintended gaps in the map geometry, and Sova’s Owl Drone flying higher than intended on B site. Killjoy’s Alarmbot has also pathed correctly since then when deployed on the edge of B Tower or on the box in B Main. Patch 11.09 additionally adjusted an area on A site so agents such as Waylay, Jett and Raze can no longer reach unintended locations above the playable space.
Corrode rule of thumb: three lanes, no mechanics, layered defenses. Whoever holds mid decides where the round tips – and whoever steps onto the site still has to clear the angles behind it.
All 21 Corrode callouts explained
The table lists every Corrode callout from the official map with its area and the three spatially closest callouts. Corrode breaks down like this: 8 callouts on the A side, 7 on the B side, 4 in mid, plus attacker spawn and defender spawn. The table uses the names from the English client. Other language versions translate only a few terms – in German, for example, “Mid” becomes “Mitte” – so the callouts work with teammates from any region.

A side: Lobby, Main and the angles behind the site
The A side has eight callouts and lies in the top half of the map. From the attacker side you come through A Lobby into A Main, which runs along the top edge of the map. In front of the site, A Pocket and A Yard sit close together, one above the other – both border A Main or the site. A Site itself lies to their left. Behind the site, toward the defender side, you’ll find A Elbow on the top edge and A Crane further left. Below the site is A Link: according to the map data it borders Mid Stairs, Mid Top and A Site, making it the connection between mid and A.
Mid: a line straight across the map
Mid has four callouts, which the official map places at exactly the same height. Coming from the right, the attacker side, you first reach Mid Bottom, then go via Mid Stairs to Mid Top. Furthest left, near defender spawn, is Mid Window. From Mid Stairs and Mid Top you can reach both A Link above and B Link below. That’s exactly why mid matters so much on Corrode: whoever holds Mid Top stands between both sites and can turn either way.
B side: Main, site and three angles behind it
The B side has seven callouts and lies in the bottom half of the map. Attackers start from B Lobby near spawn and run through B Main onto B Site. Above the site is B Link, the connection to mid. Left of and behind the site, on the defender side, are B Tower and, further left, B Arch. On the bottom edge of the map you’ll find B Elbow. These three positions are the layered defensive angles attackers have to clear after stepping onto the site.
The spawns
Attacker Spawn sits on the right edge of the map at half height; the closest callouts are B Lobby, A Lobby and Mid Bottom – from here you can reach all three lanes. Defender Spawn mirrors it on the left edge; closest to it are Mid Window, B Arch and Mid Top. For defenders, Mid Window is therefore the first spot from which they can look into mid.
Is Corrode in the map pool? Rotation history
No. Corrode has been out of the pool since patch 12.05 (March 17, 2026). The official 12.05 patch notes say: Lotus and Fracture are in the Competitive and Deathmatch queues, Abyss and Corrode are out. Corrode didn’t return with patch 13.00 (June 23, 2026) or patch 13.04 (August 18, 2026) either; since 13.04 the Competitive pool has been Ascent, Abyss, Haven, Lotus, Split, Summit and Sunset. You can still load Corrode in a custom game and explore it at your own pace, though.
Corrode’s milestones at a glance, according to the official patch notes:
Patch 11.00 (June 25, 2025): release, straight into the Competitive and Deathmatch pool; Bind returned, Pearl and Split left. According to the patch notes, RR losses on Corrode were reduced by 50% for the first two weeks while wins still paid full RR. For five days there was also a dedicated “Corrode Only” queue using the Swiftplay format.
Patches 11.02 and 11.09 (2025): bug fixes and closing unintended spots, including on A site.
Patch 12.00 (January 6, 2026): wall materials adjusted at A and B.
Patch 12.05 (March 17, 2026): Corrode and Abyss rotate out, Lotus and Fracture in.
That means Corrode was in the Competitive pool continuously from release until patch 12.05. Whether and when Corrode comes back, you’ll find out from the official patch notes. You’ll always find the current status for every map on our Valorant maps & map pool overview.
Corrode pro meta: who got picked
We don’t have our own per-map presence values for Corrode – the map is currently out of the pool, and our pick rate overview covers the active pool. The data below therefore comes from the period when Corrode was in the pro map pool: the reference is 45 recorded team comps on vlr.gg from VCT 2026 Kickoff (four regions) and from 2025.
Corrode: Top 5 by pick rate (45 team comps) · source: vlr.gg, VCT 2026 Kickoff (4 regions) + Champions 2025
The card above shows the top 5 agents by pick rate on Corrode: Yoru, Waylay, Fade, Omen and Viper (source: Top 5 by pick rate (45 team comps) · vlr.gg: VCT 2026 Kickoff (4 regions) + Champions 2025). This isn’t one fixed comp that teams played, but the five most frequently picked agents. The data comes from the tournaments in which Corrode was in the map pool. The standout is Omen with 80% of recorded comps, usually paired with Viper as a second controller.
The double-controller setup fits the layout: three lanes and layered angles behind the sites demand a lot of smokes. Omen uses Dark Cover to place precise smokes on the angles behind the site, while Viper cuts off long lines with Toxic Screen. Fade uses Haunt and Prowler to reveal which of the many positions are held. The duelists Yoru and Waylay provide fast entries: Yoru with Gatecrash and Fakeout, Waylay with Lightspeed for quick forward dashes and Refract, which sends her back to a beacon she placed earlier. Try your own variations in the team comp builder.
Attacking on Corrode: tips for the attacker side
Corrode is a fair three-lane map with no tricks. For attackers, that means mid control decides which site you can safely hit – and once you step onto the site, the second half of the work begins.
Take mid through Mid Bottom and Mid Stairs: whoever controls Mid Stairs and Mid Top can push through A Link to A and through B Link to B. That forces the defense to watch both sites at once.
Get info before the take: a Haunt or Prowler from Fade or a Recon Bolt from Sova shows which of the layered positions are held – at A, for example, A Crane or A Elbow; at B, B Tower or B Arch.
Hit A from two directions: main pressure through A Lobby, A Main, A Pocket and A Yard, plus one or two players through A Link from mid. Defenders on A then have to hold two directions.
Smoke the depth on B: when taking B through B Main, smoke off the angles behind the site – B Tower and B Arch – and then clear B Elbow on the bottom edge.
Post-plant with an eye on rotations: defenders come back through mid and from their deep positions. Pick post-plant spots from which you can see A Link or B Link.
A proven pattern is the mid split: two players take Mid Stairs and Mid Top and then push through B Link onto B Site while three come through B Main. The B defenders suddenly find themselves in a crossfire. The same works on A via A Link and A Main. Timing is everything – if one group is late, you end up playing five isolated duels. Practice these plays beforehand on the strategy board.
Also keep the patch 12.00 changes in mind: some defender positions can no longer be held as easily through penetration alone. Flip that around as an attacker: spraying through walls can disrupt defenders, but it doesn’t replace a clean take with utility. Plan your smokes and flashes before you step onto the site.
Defending on Corrode: tips for the defender side
As a defender, the layered defense is your big advantage on Corrode. You don’t have to stand at the front of the site – you can play from depth and let the attackers come to you.
Don’t give up mid for free: from Mid Window and Mid Top you can see whether attackers are taking mid. Without that info, attackers can quietly push both sites through A Link or B Link.
Play from depth: positions like A Crane, A Elbow, B Tower or B Arch lie behind the sites. From there you can surprise attackers after they step onto the site.
Info utility on every lane: Cypher’s Trapwire or Spycam, Killjoy’s Alarmbot or a Recon Bolt tell you where the attack is coming before attackers reach the site.
Don’t overrate walls: since patch 12.00, some wallbang positions alone are no longer enough to hold space. Play your position with utility and crossfires instead of just shooting through walls.
Retake through mid: rotations between A and B run through mid and the links. Whoever holds mid is faster on the retake.
Watch mid: mid on Corrode connects both sites. If you give up Mid Top and Mid Stairs without information, attackers can hit you from behind – whether you’re on A or B. Always keep someone, or at least an ability, watching mid.
A solid default setup spreads the defenders across A, B and mid. Because there are no doors or switches to cut off routes, everything depends on positioning and utility. Two controllers, like the pros run, let you supply both sites with smokes at the same time.
Corrode setups: Omen smokes for attack & defense
Here are the key Corrode setups to copy – no video needed: every position is marked on the official minimap, numbered and explained step by step. The agent is Omen, who was in 80% of the tracked pro comps on Corrode – usually alongside Viper. Corrode is out of the pool, but you can practice these setups in a custom game any time.
Every Corrode setup on this page is backed by at least two matching sources. Viper walls and sentinel setups are left out on purpose: there are not yet two sources that describe the same placement. Important: the markers show the area, not the exact pixel. Try each setup once in a custom game before you use it in a match.
Only minor changes since release (11.09: unreachable spots at A closed; 12.00: wall material at A and B) – the smoke targets are not affected. Omen was in 80% of the tracked pro comps; Viper walls and sentinel setups do not yet have two matching sources.
1Smoke: Place Dark Cover in the narrow passage where A Link opens onto the area in front of the site. No defender from mid can watch the plant through A Link or hit you in the flank unseen.
+Tip: For the second smoke the sources name different targets (the A Crane entrance or a one-way on the box on site) – put it wherever the resistance sits in your rounds.
Covers: The rotation from mid through A Link – the path defenders use to hit attackers in the flank.
Weak spot: The deep angles behind the site (A Elbow, A Crane) stay open – you have to clear them yourself after entering.
1Smoke: Place Dark Cover right in the B Main exit, where the hallway next to the pillar opens onto the site. Attackers have to walk through the smoke blind and run into your crosshair at close range.
+Tip: Use the smoke early when you hear B Main – it buys time until your rotation through mid arrives.
Covers: The attackers' direct entrance onto B.
Weak spot: B Link stays open. Without info from mid, attackers can come through B Link behind you.
Corrode isn’t in the Competitive pool right now, but for custom games and a possible return, it’s worth looking at the roles. This selection is based on the pro data (top 5 by pick rate) and the layout of the map:
Omen in 80% of pro comps: Dark Cover covers the angles behind the sites; Viper’s Toxic Screen cuts off long lines – together they’re the pros’ double-controller setup.
No sentinel made the pro top 5 – the pros rely on two controllers. In ranked, Trapwire or Alarmbot still lock down mid as a flank.

The 5 most common mistakes on Corrode
At first glance Corrode looks simple – three lanes, no mechanics. That’s exactly why many players underestimate it. These five mistakes cost the most rounds:
Ignoring mid: attacking only through A Main or B Main hands the defense mid – and with it the fast routes through A Link and B Link.
Not clearing after the plant: the layered angles behind the sites – A Crane, A Elbow, B Tower, B Arch, B Elbow – often get forgotten. A single defender there can flip a take.
Mixing up Elbow: there’s A Elbow and B Elbow, A Link and B Link, A Lobby and B Lobby. Drop the letter and you send your team to the wrong site.
Only shooting through walls: since patch 12.00, some positions can no longer be held or cleared with wallbangs alone. Utility and crossfires are still a must.
Vague callouts: “one back there” helps nobody. “One B Arch, low” wins rounds. Use the map above until all 21 names stick.
Callout cheat sheet: what good calls sound like on Corrode
A good callout answers three questions in one sentence: how many, where, and in what state. On Corrode, the letter matters too, because many names exist on both sides. These examples use only names from the official map:
“Two A Main, one tagged” – two enemies are coming through A Main, one of them is damaged.
“One Mid Stairs, turning B Link” – an enemy in mid is heading toward B Site.
“Three B Lobby, going B Main” – the B hit is on.
“One A Crane, one A Elbow” – two defenders are playing deep behind A Site.
“Mid Window is empty” – mid on the defender side is clear.
“Spike B Site, one B Tower” – post-plant info for your team.
Two rules make the difference: first, always say the letter – “Elbow” alone is useless on Corrode, “A Elbow” or “B Elbow” isn’t. Second, short and calm after you die: you can still see where the enemy is going, and that is exactly the info your team needs right now.
Corrode compared with the other maps
Along with Pearl, Corrode is one of the few maps in the game with no map mechanics at all. While Ascent works with doors, Split with ropes and Lotus with rotating doors, Corrode relies on a classic three-lane layout with layered defensive angles behind both sites. Unlike Pearl, where the sites sit far apart, Corrode’s mid runs as a straight line between A at the top and B at the bottom. The table shows all 13 maps at a glance:
Corrode isn’t in the pool right now – which makes it perfect for relaxed practice in a custom game. This plan combines the tools on Valorant-Spind:
5 minutes of map study: turn on “All names” above and go through A, mid and B using the filters. Watch out for the duplicate names like Elbow, Link and Lobby.
3 minutes of quiz: run the Corrode callout quiz until you score at least 8 out of 10.
5 minutes in a custom game: load Corrode and walk the three lanes – A Lobby, A Main, A Site, then through A Link into mid all the way to Mid Window, and via B Link onto B Site. Take a look at the angles behind the sites while you’re at it.
2 minutes of tactics: for Corrode, draw a mid split onto B via B Link and B Main on the strategy board and share it with your team.
After that, check out Pearl, the other map with no mechanics at all, and Bind, which entered the pool together with Corrode in patch 11.00. If you want to fine-tune your team comp for Corrode, use the team comp builder.
