The rank icons and names come live from the official Valorant game database, so all 25 divisions from Iron 1 to Radiant are shown correctly and up to date. Valorant ranks aren't luck, they're a pyramid: the great mass of players gathers in the middle while the top is extremely thin. Roughly speaking, the center of gravity sits at Silver and Gold – this is where most active players are. Platinum already marks the top third, Diamond the top tenth. After that the air gets thin fast: Ascendant, Immortal and especially Radiant together make up only a very small percentage.
This explains why many players feel "average" in Gold even though they're already better than a large part of the community. The calculator makes this effect visible and helps you place your rank realistically – instead of only comparing yourself to your already above-average friends. Honesty matters to us: the percentages are an approximation, not an official statistic. Riot doesn't publish an official, daily rank distribution, so the figures are based on widely-used community data and can vary by region, act and point in time. At the start of a new act the ranks are reset and the distribution looks different than at the end. So treat the percentage as solid orientation, not an exact measurement to the decimal.
What is 100% correct, on the other hand: the ranks themselves, their names and icons. These come live from the official Valorant API, so the current rank structure is always shown. That gives you the reliable foundation – the distribution provides the entertaining, easy-to-place context around it.
People love to place their performance – and nothing makes that as tangible as a clear percentage. "I'm Platinum" is abstract; "I'm better than 78% of all players" is a statement. That's exactly why percentile displays are a strong motivator and a popular sharing format: you post your value, compare with friends and instantly get a feel for where you really stand in the big ladder.

You won't reach a higher percentile overnight, but you will with the right habits. First: focus on a few agents and maps instead of half-knowing everything – consistency beats variety. Second: warm up briefly before ranked games so you don't enter the first round with cold reflexes. Third: watch your economy and utility – especially in the mid ranks, mistakes in buying and using abilities decide many rounds. And fourth: play with a clear head and avoid tilt; one calm session gets you further than five frustrated ones.
