Who is Yoru in VALORANT?
Yoru is the cunning lone wolf of the roster – a Japanese Duelist who travels through rifts in reality and drives his enemies mad with deception, clones and teleports. He strikes where no one expects him and is gone before anyone can react.
Yoru came to the game in 2021 and is still arguably the most demanding, but also the most tricky, Duelist. His kit revolves around deception and repositioning: an echo clone runs ahead and fakes presence, a dimensional fragment blinds enemies around the corner, a rift anchor teleports him (or only fakes the teleport), and his Ultimate lets him drift invisibly into his own dimension. That makes him a solo entry who wins with brains rather than brute force.
For you as a player, that means a creative, cunning playstyle. Yoru rewards players who love to manipulate their enemies: master his fakes and teleports and you pop up at impossible angles, force enemies into mistakes, and turn duels before they even begin. He has one of the highest skill ceilings in the game – and in good hands he's brutally effective.
In this guide you get the complete overview: we explain Yoru's role as a Duelist, every ability in detail, tips for beginners and advanced players, his best maps – and you can listen to his most distinctive lines right here.
