It's important to interpret these numbers correctly. They are publicly shared reference values (as of 2025/26) that come from streams, interviews and profile pages. Pros keep changing their settings over the course of a season, swap mice, switch roles or adapt to new maps and agents. So view the values as a snapshot and orientation, not as an official, forever-valid truth. The real benefit isn't copying exactly one number, but getting a feel for the sensible corridor that strong players move within.

That's exactly why the explorer always shows the eDPI alongside the raw in-game sens. Because the bare sens alone says almost nothing as long as you don't know the DPI. Only the combination of the two yields a comparable figure – and that comparability is the whole point of such a tool. Sensitivity, DPI and eDPI explained simply

DPI is hardware

DPI (dots per inch) is a pure hardware setting of your mouse. It defines how many counts the sensor reports per inch of physical movement. A higher DPI means the same hand movement produces more counts and your character turns further. You set the DPI in your mouse's software, not in Valorant. In the table above you can see that almost all pros stick to a few round values: 400, 800, 1000 or 1600. Very high DPI brings no advantage, it only amplifies sensor noise and makes the cursor jitter on tiny movements.

Sensitivity is the in-game multiplier

Sensitivity is the multiplier inside the game. Valorant takes your mouse's counts and multiplies them by your sens value to calculate a rotation angle. A sensitivity of 0.3 turns the camera only half as far as one of 0.6 for the same mouse movement. Because DPI and sensitivity work together, someone with low DPI and high sens can have exactly the same aiming feel as someone with high DPI and low sens – as long as the product of the two matches.

eDPI is the honest comparison figure

This very product is called eDPI (effective DPI) and results from sensitivity × DPI. The eDPI is the most honest comparison figure between two players because it bundles both adjustment screws into a single number. A player with 800 DPI and sens 0.4 has an eDPI of 320 – exactly like someone with 1600 DPI and sens 0.2. Both move the camera equally far for an identical hand movement. So when you compare the pro settings in the table, the eDPI column is the most meaningful. Sort it ascending once and you'll immediately see how tightly the field sits together: the large majority moves within a clearly defined band, and only a few outliers sit clearly above or below.

How to find your own sensitivity

The best setting isn't that of a particular pro, but the one that fits your hand, your mousepad and your playstyle. A proven starting point is a rather low eDPI between about 200 and 400. At 800 DPI that roughly corresponds to a sens of 0.25 to 0.5. From there you feel your way in small steps: if you notice you constantly hit the edge of the mousepad when turning around, it was too low. If, on the other hand, you overshoot every headshot, it's too high.

The right order is crucial. First set a fixed DPI – 400 or 800 are solid, widely used values – and afterwards only change the in-game sens. Anyone who adjusts both at once can't cleanly attribute the effect and ends up going in circles. Give each setting at least one to two weeks of serious play before you judge, because a bad day is almost never down to the sens, but to concentration, sleep or positioning. Resist the temptation to twist the sensitivity after every lost round – every change resets your muscle memory.

A practical method for measuring your cm/360 helps with the fine-tuning: place your mouse at the left edge of the mousepad, turn exactly 360 degrees in the game and measure the distance travelled in centimetres. Converting between games

Many of the pros in the table originally come from CS2, CS:GO or other shooters and carried their aiming feel over. That's exactly what you should do too when you switch. Your sensitivity is largely muscle memory: over hundreds of hours your arm learns which movement produces which rotation angle. If you just enter a round number when switching games, you throw away that learned relationship.

The trick is not to carry over the in-game sens, but the real turning distance. Every engine converts mouse movement into rotation angle differently, so the same sens gives completely different turns in two games. The cross-game figure is cm/360: the distance your mouse has to travel for a full turn. If you keep it constant across all your shooters, every hour – no matter which game – trains the same muscle memory. Why pro settings are so low

When you sort the eDPI column, a pattern stands out: almost all values are low, many even below 400. That's not a coincidence but a deliberate choice. Valorant is a precision game in which most duels are decided by short, clean flicks and calm tracking at head height. A low sensitivity allows exactly these precise micro-corrections: small tremors of the hand translate into small movements of the crosshair, so you can land cleanly on a head and stay there.

The price for that is a slower turn. Anyone who plays low needs more room on the mousepad and often has to reposition the mouse for wide turns. Pros deliberately accept this disadvantage, because a missed first shot weighs more heavily in Valorant than a slow turn. With a hitbox at the head that decides life and death, every millimetre of precision counts more than speed. That's exactly why the trend has clearly been towards calm, low settings for years – and that's exactly what the table reflects. The few higher values in the field mostly belong to duelists whose aggressive style rewards fast close-range fights and 180-degree turns.

Resolution: why 1920x1080 and alternatives

The resolution column shows the same value for most pros: 1920x1080, Full HD in the 16:9 aspect ratio for short. There's a simple reason. This resolution offers the native, undistorted field of view Valorant is designed for, and runs on almost any hardware with high, stable frame rates. High frame rates are no luxury in a tactical shooter; they reduce input lag and make enemies appear a fraction of a second earlier.

Some players experiment with stretched resolutions like 4:3 or 16:10, because enemy models appear wider there and a weaker graphics card is relieved by the lower pixel count. That's a matter of taste and comes with a restricted horizontal field of view that shows you enemies approaching from the side later. For the vast majority of players, the native 16:9 resolution is the best choice: full field of view, correct proportions and an image that matches exactly what the pros build their aim practice on. Only change the resolution if you have a concrete reason and want to get used to the altered field of view.

Adopting a pro setup responsibly

It's tempting to just copy the exact numbers of your favourite pro – but that's rarely the best way. A setup is tailored over years to a particular hand, a particular mousepad and a particular playstyle. What works for a duelist with a huge mousepad and aggressive entry style can feel completely wrong for you. So use the table as orientation, not as a template to copy. Look at which band the eDPI values sit in, choose a starting point near you and then patiently adjust it to yourself.
