How it works

Your random agent in 3 seconds

Tired of locking Jett again? The agent roulette makes the call for you – with real agent artwork from the Valorant API and the matching voice line as soon as the reel stops.

1Hit “Spin” (or the space bar) – the reel rattles through every agent and stops on your pick.
2Use the role chips and “My agents” to narrow the pool, so you only get agents you can actually play.
3In duo, trio or 5-stack mode everyone in your group gets an agent – with your names, plus role balance and a random map if you like. Drop the link or image in Discord, done.
What the roulette does for you
  • No more pick arguments in agent select
  • Real portraits, roles and all abilities at a glance
  • Voice lines for 26 agents – sound can be muted any time
  • Your agent pool stays saved in your browser
  • Duo, trio or 5-stack – with your names
  • Free, no login, no download

⚡ Quick answer

This Valorant random agent picker spins a slot machine and lands on one of all 29 playable agents, then shows you the portrait, role and all four abilities. Filters let you limit the draw to certain roles or to only the agents you own. Team mode rolls five agents with no duplicates, with optional role balance and a random map from the ranked pool. It’s free, runs right in your browser and needs no sign-up.

How the Valorant random agent roulette works

Can’t decide who to lock in next? Stuck playing the same main every single night? That’s exactly what a Valorant random agent roulette is for: one click, the reel spins, and you end up with a random agent you have to play in your next match. The pool includes all 29 playable agents as of Patch 13.06, from Jett and Sage all the way to Miks and Veto. The tool makes the decision for you, adds variety to your sessions and works great for challenges with your friends.

People search for this kind of thing under a bunch of names – “agent roulette,” “random agent generator,” “agent picker” – but it all means the same thing: a tool that hands you a random agent. Ours goes a few steps further than a bare name generator, because right after the spin you can see what your new agent actually brings to the table.

Spin: the slot machine

The core of the tool is a slot machine. Hit “Spin” and a reel packed with every agent icon starts rolling, slows down and finally stops on a random pick. It only takes a moment, but it adds that little bit of suspense a roulette needs. When your whole five-stack is sitting in Discord waiting for their results, that beats a name that just pops up on screen by a mile.

The result: portrait, role, abilities and voice line

Once the reel stops, the tool shows you everything you need to get going:

Voice lines are available for 26 of the 29 agents. There’s no audio file for Miks, Veto and Waylay (yet), so for those three the tool shows a short note instead. If you’re already in a voice call or just don’t want sound, you can mute it with one click. Want to hear more from the cast? Our page on ultimate voice lines collects the famous lines agents shout when they pop their ult.

Seeing the abilities right in the result isn’t just decoration. When the roulette gives you an agent you’ve never touched, you instantly know what you’re working with: Is there a smoke? A heal? A flash? Some way to gather info? That way you don’t walk into agent select completely blind.

Filters: roles, My Agents and no repeats

Pure randomness is fun, but it doesn’t always fit the situation. That’s why you can shape the pool with three filters:

You can combine the filters however you like – for example, draw only Initiators from your unlocked agents while blocking repeats. Naturally, the tighter you filter, the smaller the pool the roulette picks from.

Share links and the spin counter

Got a result you want to show your friends? Just copy the link. For a single agent it looks something like ?a=jett, and anyone who opens it lands right on that result. Team results get their own team link. The tool also counts how many times you’ve spun in your current session – a fun stat when your squad wants to know how many tries it took to finally hit the agent someone was hoping for.

Why play a random agent at all?

At first, letting chance pick your agent sounds a little odd. Almost everyone has a few favorites they feel safest on. But that’s exactly where the appeal comes from. If you only ever play one agent, you only ever see Valorant from one angle. A random pick forces you to think about the game differently.

In our view, there are four solid reasons to fire up the roulette on a regular basis:

  1. You’ll understand your opponents better. Once you’ve played Killjoy or Viper yourself, you spot where their utility usually sits – and how to play around it – a lot faster.
  2. You become more flexible for your team. Being at least decent on several roles means you can step in when your main is already taken, since every agent can only be picked once per team in Valorant.
  3. You break out of tilt streaks. When nothing is working on your main, a totally different agent brings a fresh feel and takes the pressure off.
  4. It’s simply fun. Randomness creates hilarious moments, unexpected team comps and stories you’ll be bringing up for weeks.

The only thing that matters is using it in the right setting. The roulette is a tool for fun, practice and variety. Where it shines – and where it really doesn’t belong – is covered further down in the challenge ideas.

Group modes: random duo, trio, 5-stack and random map

Spinning solo is nice, but the roulette really comes alive with a full squad. In team mode, the tool draws five agents at once, with no duplicates. That mirrors the in-game rule: each agent can only be picked once per team. So you always get a lineup you could actually lock in for a real match.

Then just split the five agents among yourselves. Whether you assign them in order, let everyone grab one, or roll again to decide who gets whom is totally up to you. Our advice: agree on the rule before you spin, so nobody argues about it afterward.

Duo and trio mode: the roulette for your premade

You don’t always play as a full five. Often you queue up as two or three, and matchmaking fills the remaining spots. That’s exactly what the duo mode with two agents and the trio mode with three agents are for. Again, there are no duplicates – everyone in your group gets their own agent.

In duo and trio mode, the balance option is called “Different roles”. With it switched on, every player gets an agent from a different role, for example one Duelist and one Controller. That way your small group covers as much ground as possible, and your randoms can fill the remaining roles. Without it, pure chance decides – so you might end up as a double-Duelist duo.

Type your names into the fields above the cards before you spin. Every card then shows who has to play which agent, and the names also appear in the link and the image. The names are only stored in your browser. Whether your rolled duo actually works together and which combos are strong on which map is what our duo finder for agent duos and trio combos shows you.

Role balance: at least one of each role

With five agents, pure chance can produce some wild lineups – three Duelists and zero Controllers, for example. That can be funny, but it usually makes rounds pretty messy. That’s why there’s an optional role balance setting. With it switched on, the team always contains at least one Duelist, one Initiator, one Controller and one Sentinel, plus a fifth agent from any role.

That gives you the classic backbone of a team: someone to take first contact, someone to gather info, someone on smokes and someone to lock down areas. The fifth slot is your wild card. If you want to take a closer look at a rolled lineup or tweak it on purpose, you can rebuild it in our team comp builder and fine-tune it there.

Random map from the ranked pool

As a bonus, the roulette can pick the map for you too. It draws from the current ranked map pool, which since Patch 13.04 on August 18, 2026 – the start of Act V – has consisted of 7 maps in the ranked pool: Abyss, Ascent, Haven, Lotus, Split, Summit and Sunset. Patches 13.05 and 13.06 left the lineup unchanged. Valorant has 13 standard maps in total, and only some of them are in the ranked rotation at any given time.

WhenRanked map pool
Patch 13.04 (Aug 18, 2026, start of Act V)Abyss, Ascent, Haven, Lotus, Split, Summit, Sunset
Patch 13.05unchanged
Patch 13.06unchanged
Act VI (starts Oct 14, 2026 per game data)not yet known – changes possible

A quick heads-up on timing: according to game data, Act VI kicks off on October 14, 2026. Riot usually rotates the map pool when a new act begins, so the selection may change then. For every map and how it’s laid out, check out our map overview.

Pairing a random agent with a random map makes the challenge even more interesting. Some agents feel natural on certain maps right away, while others seem totally out of place at first. Those are exactly the situations where you learn the most, because you’re forced to get creative.

Team result as image and link

Of course you’ll want to keep a record of a rolled team. There are two ways to do that: copy the team link and drop it in your Discord channel, or download the team result as a PNG image at 1,200 × 675 pixels. The image works well for posting in your group chat or as a preview for a stream. That way everyone knows later who was stuck with which agent – and nobody can sneakily swap.

Challenge ideas and game variants for the roulette

The roulette itself is just the starting point. It really comes to life through the rules you build around it. The variants below are our own ideas, not official Riot game modes. Use them as a template and adapt them to your group.

VariantPlayersBest settingTool setup
Custom game nightup to 10Custom game with friendsTeam mode, random map optional

Custom game night with friends

The classic: get ten people together, split into two teams and roll agents for both sides. With role balance on, the teams stay reasonably fair; without it, things get gloriously chaotic. Let the tool pick the map as well and everything is truly left to chance. Nothing is on the line in a custom game, which is exactly why everyone feels free to try agents they’d normally never touch.

One small twist that works really well: re-spin at halftime. That way everybody plays at least two different agents in one evening, and you find out who adapts to something new the fastest.

A new agent every week

This one is more of a practice plan than a party game. Spin once a week, then play whatever you get for seven days in your casual matches. The “My Agents” filter makes sure you only get agents you can actually use, and the “no repeats” option keeps you from drawing the same one two weeks in a row.

Our take: one week is enough to get the basics of an agent down – when to use which ability, where it makes sense on your favorite maps and which mistakes you tend to make early on. After a few months, you’ll know a big chunk of the roster from firsthand experience.

Double chaos: agent roulette plus Strat Roulette

If one random agent isn’t enough for you, combine the agent roulette with our Strat Roulette. First you roll your lineup, then you pull a random strategy or house rule for each round. The result is rounds nobody will forget, even if you don’t always win them.

Our tip for this combo: turn on role balance in the agent roulette so at least your base lineup makes sense. The strats will bring more than enough chaos on their own.

Content idea for streamers and TikTok

For content creators, the roulette is a gift. The moment the reel stops triggers a genuine reaction – perfect as a hook for clips, Shorts or TikToks. Formats like “chat spins, I play” or “random agent until my first win” are easy to pull off with almost no prep. And with the PNG export of the team result, you already have a finished graphic you can show on stream or use as a thumbnail.

Keep in mind that challenges like these in public matches affect your teammates too. For stream challenges, pick modes where the outcome carries less weight for others, or play with a premade group that’s actually up for the experiment.

Why the roulette doesn’t belong in ranked

As much fun as the roulette is, our clear recommendation is: don’t force it in ranked. In Competitive you’re playing with four other people who want to win and know nothing about your challenge. Locking in an agent you can’t play – or doubling up on a role – without talking to anyone first hurts the whole team.

If you’re queuing as a full five-stack and everyone’s on board, that’s your call, of course. In solo queue, though, team coordination beats the dice every time. Use the role filter instead to spin from whatever your team actually needs. That way you keep a little randomness while still respecting everyone else.

Tip: For ranked, the roulette works best as a warm-up tool. Spin a few agents, practice them in Unrated or Swiftplay, and only bring them into Competitive once you feel confident.

The 4 roles and all 29 agents in the roulette

Valorant splits its agents into four roles: Duelist, Initiator, Controller and Sentinel. If you ever switch your client to German, you’ll see Controllers listed as “Taktiker” – same role, different name. As of Patch 13.06, the 29 agents break down like this:

RoleCountAgents
Duelist8Jett, Reyna, Raze, Phoenix, Yoru, Neon, Iso, Waylay
Initiator7Sova, Breach, Skye, KAY/O, Fade, Gekko, Tejo
Controller7Brimstone, Viper, Omen, Astra, Harbor, Clove, Miks
Sentinel7Sage, Cypher, Killjoy, Chamber, Deadlock, Vyse, Veto

Duelists are the agents who take first contact and go looking for fights. With eight agents, they’re the largest group on the roster, while the other three roles have seven each. If you’d rather not end up on a Duelist, just switch that role off in the filter.

Initiators set up attacks: they gather info, track down enemies or throw them off balance so the team can push in more easily. They take a bit of map knowledge, but they reward good coordination with your Duelists.

Controllers use smokes and other utility to control what the enemy can see and where they can move. Without one, cleanly taking a spike site gets tough. If the roulette hands you a Controller, it’s especially worth quickly looking up smoke spots for the current map beforehand.

Sentinels lock down areas, watch flanks and anchor the defense. They’re often the players keeping track of the bigger picture while the rest of the team pushes forward.

For detailed info on every single agent, including abilities and guides, head over to our agent overview. From there you can jump straight to each agent’s page, like Jett, Sage or KAY/O.

Tip: Use the role filter to practice one role on purpose. Turn on only Sentinels, for example, and keep spinning until you’ve played all seven at least once.

Haven’t unlocked every agent yet?

New players know the problem well: the roulette lands on an agent you don’t even own yet. That’s because new accounts start with only a selection of base agents. You unlock the rest over time, for example with Kingdom Credits or through agent recruitment and agent contracts.

That’s exactly what the “My Agents” filter is for. Check off the agents you already have once, and from then on the tool only draws from those. You’ll never get a result you can’t actually click in agent select. When you unlock someone new later on, just add another check mark.

Your list is stored in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). That has two practical effects. First, your selection is still there when you come back to the page later. Second, it only applies to that browser on that device. If you open the roulette on your phone instead of your PC, or clear your browser data, you’ll need to check your agents again. You don’t need an account on our site for any of this – it all works without logging in.

By the way, the roulette can also help you figure out which agent to unlock next. Put every agent in the pool, spin a few times and try the results you already own in a custom game or the Range. For the rest, you can check out their abilities and role in the result before you commit.

Rolled an agent you don’t know? Here’s what to do

Sooner or later it’ll happen: the reel stops on an agent you’ve never played a single match with. No need to panic. Follow these steps and you’ll find your footing fast:

  1. Read the abilities in the result: The tool shows all four abilities with names and icons. Take a second to figure out which one gives info, which one blocks vision and which one helps you win duels.
  2. Understand the role: Your role tells you what your job is. As a Sentinel, you don’t have to be the first one through the door; as a Duelist, you probably do.
  3. Hop into the Range: Before you queue, spend a few minutes testing the abilities in peace. That way you know how far something travels or how long it lasts.
  4. Keep it simple: In your first match, only use the abilities you’re confident about. Add the rest bit by bit.
  5. Read up afterward: After the match, it’s worth checking the agent’s page to learn typical setups and common mistakes.

And most importantly: go easy on yourself. Nobody plays a new agent perfectly in their first game. That’s the whole point of the roulette – discovering something new instead of repeating what you already know.

Important: Let your team know when you’re playing an agent for the first time. A quick heads-up in voice chat buys you some patience and helps your teammates plan around you.

Roulette, agent quiz or tier list: which tool when?

valorant-spind.de has several tools built around picking agents. They complement each other, but each one answers a different question. Here’s a quick overview so you can grab the right one:

A combo that makes sense to us: use the agent quiz to find your main and the roulette to broaden your horizons. Do both and you’ll have a reliable pick for serious matches plus enough experience on other agents to stay flexible for your team.

Another upside of randomness: it has no bias. Plenty of players avoid certain agents because they heard somewhere that they’re “hard” or “boring.” The roulette doesn’t care. More often than you’d think, the agent you ignored for ages turns out to fit your playstyle surprisingly well.

Frequently asked questions about the Valorant random agent roulette

What is the Valorant random agent roulette?

A free browser tool that uses a slot machine to draw a random agent from Valorant’s 29 playable agents. After the spin, you see the agent’s portrait, name, role and all four abilities.

How many agents are in the roulette?

All 29 playable agents as of Patch 13.06: eight Duelists plus seven each of Initiators, Controllers and Sentinels. You can shrink the pool with the filters.

Can I only roll agents I’ve unlocked?

Yes. Under “My Agents,” check off the agents you’ve unlocked, and the roulette will only pick from that list. It’s saved in your browser.

Can the roulette pick a whole team?

Yes. Team mode draws five agents with no duplicates. The optional role balance guarantees at least one Duelist, one Initiator, one Controller and one Sentinel.

Is there a duo and trio mode too?

Yes. Duo mode draws two and trio mode three different agents for your premade. With “Different roles” everyone gets an agent from a different role, and if you like, your names show up on the cards, in the link and in the image.

Which maps can the random map pick?

It draws from the current ranked map pool: Abyss, Ascent, Haven, Lotus, Split, Summit and Sunset. The pool may change with Act VI, which starts on October 14, 2026.

Why don’t some agents play a voice line?

There’s no audio file in the tool for Miks, Veto and Waylay yet, so you get a note instead of their voice. The other 26 agents play a real voice line, which you can also mute.

Can the same agent come up twice in a row?

If you want to rule that out, turn on the “no repeats” option. The same agent will then never be drawn twice back to back.

Can I share my result with friends?

Yes. You can copy a link with your result, such as ?a=jett for a single agent, or a team link. Team results can also be downloaded as a 1,200 × 675 PNG image.

Should I use the roulette in ranked?

We don’t recommend forcing a random agent in ranked without talking to your team. The roulette is a better fit for custom games, Unrated, Swiftplay or as practice before you take a new agent into Competitive.

Is the tool free, and do I need an account?

It’s completely free, runs entirely in your browser and works without any sign-up or install.
