How the Simulator Works Step by Step

The controls are deliberately kept simple. One click on „Open Night Market“ makes six face-down cards appear in the Night Market’s typical purple look. As soon as you click a card, it flips over with a smooth animation and shows you the skin, its tier, the crossed-out original price, the new discounted price and, in the corner, a badge with the percentage off.

You can reveal the cards one by one to savour the suspense, or make all six visible at once with the „Reveal all“ button. With every revealed card the total-savings display at the bottom updates. This sum adds up how many VP you would save compared with the regular prices if you bought all revealed skins at the discounted price – and additionally shows the amount in euros so you get a tangible feel for it.

If you do not like your round, you simply click „Reroll“. Then six fresh cards are drawn, with new skins and new discounts. This way you can try as often as you like without anything being saved or any real currency being involved. Finally, the „Share“ button places a ready-made text with your savings and a link on your clipboard, which you can pass straight to your team or into a chat. Everything runs locally in your browser, no cookies are set and no data is sent to a server.

The Discount Tiers in the Night Market

In the real Night Market the discounts usually move in a range of around ten to fifty percent. Riot has defined fixed tiers from which a value is drawn for each card. Small discounts of about twelve or fifteen percent are the most common, while the really big discounts near fifty percent appear much more rarely. That is exactly why it is such a lucky moment when an expensive skin with a high discount hides behind a card.

Our simulator uses a realistic selection of these tiers, specifically the values twelve, fifteen, eighteen, twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five, forty and forty-seven percent. For each of the six cards one of these values is drawn at random. The discounted price is then calculated quite simply by reducing the original price by the corresponding percentage and rounding to whole Valorant Points. A skin for 2,175 VP with forty percent off therefore costs 1,305 VP in the simulator, which corresponds to a saving of 870 VP or about 8.70 euros.

Important to understand: a high percentage on a cheap skin often yields less in absolute terms than a medium percentage on an expensive knife. Forty-five percent on a Select edition for 875 VP saves you just under 400 VP, whereas even thirty-five percent on a knife for 3,550 VP – the most expensive that may appear in the Night Market at all – amounts to around 1,240 VP. That is why the simulator deliberately shows both numbers side by side on every card: the crossed-out original price and the new discounted price. This way you see at a glance how much a card actually brings, instead of being guided only by the colourful percentage in the badge. Once you have revealed all six cards, the total savings at the bottom add up all the individual amounts and translate them into euros. This sum is the most honest measure of a round: it tells you whether your random market consisted of many small discounts on cheap skins or whether a single heavily discounted knife made up the lion’s share of the savings. When the simulator pays off: the real Night Market dates

There is no fixed, publicly guaranteed rule for when the Night Market appears, and Riot deliberately does not announce the exact dates long in advance. In practice, however, the Night Market shows up several times a year, often around the change of a larger chapter or act. In the past it frequently ran for periods of about two to three weeks in which every player could open their six personalised cards. After this window the event disappears again, and you have to wait until the next time.

As soon as the Night Market is active, you see an additional tab in the shop area in-game, usually with a striking notice. That is where you open your cards. Importantly, the event is time-limited: once you reveal your cards, the selection stays for the entire duration of the window, so you can calmly decide whether and which of the discounted skins you want to buy. Once the window is over, the offers are gone too – regardless of whether you struck or not.

Because the exact dates are uncertain, it is worth keeping an eye on the official channels and community sites if you are missing a particular skin. A discount is only a good deal if you wanted the skin anyway. A forty-percent discount on a skin you do not actually like does not save you money but costs you some.
