A common misconception is that a locker with many skins is automatically worth more than one with few. The table shows why that isn't true: a single ultra skin plus a knife already surpasses ten select skins combined. For the total value, then, it depends less on quantity than on how many high-value pieces are in the collection.
When a locker is suddenly worth several hundred euros, it's almost always due to two things: complete bundles and knives. Both are the heaviest chunks in the value calculation, and both are regularly underestimated when guessing from the gut.
A knife alone costs between 3,550 and 5,550 VP – that corresponds to around €35 to €56. So a single melee is often more expensive than three or four weapon skins combined. Since the knife is constantly in your hand in the game, many players deliberately go for it, and these very pieces pull the locker value up.
Bundles additionally combine several high-value skins in one package. A full premium bundle with four weapons and a knife quickly ends up at around 7,100 VP, so roughly €71. Whoever has bought two or three such packages over the years carries the majority of their locker value in a few collections. When estimating manually, these amounts easily slip through, because you no longer have the individual parts of an old bundle in mind.
A little trick for classifying: in your locker, count the knives and complete bundles first, before you dwell on the individual weapons. These few items determine the lion's share, and once you've captured them cleanly, you're already very close to the truth on the total value. The many cheap select and deluxe skins only round off the sum afterwards.
One point is especially important and often misunderstood: the calculated euro value of your skins is a guide, not a price at which you could sell them. Valorant has no official trading. There is no marketplace where you exchange skins for real money, and Riot allows neither the sale nor the transfer of individual skins between accounts.
So the value does not answer the question „How much do I get for it?" but „How much was invested in this collection, or would be needed to rebuild it?". That is a completely different figure. It is excellent for gauging the scale of your locker, comparing with friends or simply getting a feel for your own collection – but not as a basis for trading.
Trading whole accounts does exist in grey areas, but it violates Riot's terms of service and carries real risks up to a ban. We explicitly advise against it. The skin value remains a purely orientational figure, and that is exactly how you should read it.
When adding up, a distinction that many mix up is worthwhile: there is the pure skin value and the more comprehensive inventory value. Both sound similar but mean different things.
The pure skin value counts only your weapon skins and knives – that is, the cosmetic pieces that have a clear price in the VP shop. This is the figure this guide is mainly about, and it can be cleanly calculated via the tier prices.
Inventory value
The inventory value goes further and includes secondary objects: sprays, buddies, player cards and titles. These extras often come from bundles or Battle Passes and individually have only a low VP value, but they still add up in large collections. A clean comparison between two lockers only works if the same definition is used both times.
In practice the skin and knife value dominates the calculation almost always, because the accessory parts are comparatively cheap. Still, it's good to know which figure you are currently looking at – otherwise you end up comparing apples with oranges.
